Montana Cowboy

Montana Cowboy

A cowboy at a bar in Great Falls, Montana, orders three mugs of beer and sits in the back room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.

The bartender tells him, ‘You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time.’ The cowboy replies, ‘I know, but that’s O.K. I have two brothers, one in Billings, the other in Helena . I’m in Great Falls. When we left home, we promised …

Change – to be led by foolish and blind guides

There is a Mormonism that you hear every once in a while… You sometimes hear the term “The Nephite Disease”. Basically what this is referring to is the cycle the Nephites followed and kept following in the Book of Mormon. The cycle is this. The Lord blesses his people, they start to prosper, they start to become rich, they become prideful, they forget the Lord, and then they become a cursed people.

I was reading the other day in Helaman 13, and came across a couple of scriptures that reminded me of what is going on in the US right …

I am the luckiest man alive. My wife is the best wife that there ever could be (and she is probably thinking I am not being serious, but I am). Check out her BLOG at http://momzoo.blogspot.com/ (after you read this of course).

When the world is getting more worldly, and the movement is to de feminize women, she is trying her hardest to do the opposite. She is trying to save money and live a simpler life, and always pushing me to be a better person. Here are some of the examples of things she is doing that the “Modern …

5 Minute Management Course

Lesson 1:
A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings.

The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.

When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor.

Before she says a word, Bob says, ‘I’ll give you $800 to drop that towel.’

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes …

Labor Unions?

Recently in Chicago, a windows and door factory closed its doors. Republic Windows and Doors held a company meeting and the told all of its 200+ workers that they were going to be picking up their last paycheck on Friday. [Source: NY Times]

Here are a couple of points I would like to point out on this story.

The ILL Governor (Rod R. Balgojevich) then started to throw his weight around. He told the workers that Chicago is no longer going to do business with Bank of America until they give the failing company a line of credit …

If only….

If only our government and leaders would speak as boldly and have such a passion for God as we find the the Book Of Mormon. This world would be a totally different place.

5 Behold, Ammoron, I have written unto you somewhat concerning this war which ye have waged against my people, or rather which thy brother hath waged against them, and which ye are still determined to carry on after his death.

6 Behold, I would tell you somewhat concerning the justice of God, and the sword of his almighty wrath, which doth hang over you except ye repent

Another chicken producer bites the dust..

While reading the news over the past few days, I have seen a trend that I find very alarming. The price of poultry is on the rise. The push for Ethanol fuels is raising the prices for corn [Source: Gas 7 Grain prices plunge…]. And the rise in corn prices has caused several big, and not so big poultry farms to close their doors or file for bankruptcy.

The latest is Pilgrim’s pride. It is now lining up to do a $450 million Chapter 11 exit. They site raising grain costs as the reason for profit losses and …
