Badger Cam – 4/28/2014 – 5/2/2014

The badger has not been seen for a couple of days (she may either be having her babies, or has moved to another den, they have several they use and move around a lot.)

BUT, we have seen some more coyotes during the night.  Below are a few pictures of the Badger, and them some coyote pictures as well.   The only thing caught on the camera last night (5/1/2014) was when I turned on the camera and when I collected the SD card.

Badgers – Quail Run Farm

Quail Run farm has some new residents.  Badgers.  Badgers are pretty common in Utah according to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.  You can find out more info on Badgers by going to their website: http://dwrcdc.nr.utah.gov/rsgis2/search/Display.asp?FlNm=taxitaxu

The problem with watching badgers is that they are nocturnal and are most active during the night.  For that reason, I purchased a low cost game camera to take pictures of the badger. I purchased a Moultrie A5 Low Glow Game Camera on amazon.com to get some pictures of the badger. I am posting some of them here.

HoneyBees – Day 14 – First Hive Inspection

On 5/11/2013 we opened the honey bee hive we have to see what has been going on for the last two weeks since we installed the package.  Below are the pictures we took during the process, Momzoo is the photographer.  Punk #2, future bee keeper, helped and you can see her doing some of the work with the frames.
IMG_4002We picked early in the morning, but after the hive was active to open it.  The idea behind this is to allow some of the hive to go out looking for pollen so that there are not as many bees in …

Just Fishin….

Last weekend, Chadd (Momzoo’s brother), Erin (Chadd’s new wife), and I took Punk #5, the only boy fishing.  It was funny, because I fixed his line, put his line in the water and he would have nothing to do with it.  Instead, you found a stick and started playing with it.  Then he asked me for some fishline, then asked for a hook.  Well, he then had me tie the fishline and hook to the stick.  He then kept putting it in the water saying he was going to catch the little guppies (minnows) he could see near …

AU – Sydney Wildlife Word and Sydney Aquarium

Sorry that these pictures are not that great, it was kinda to take them because of the lighting, etc.  But these are taken from the Sydney Wildlife World and Sydney Aquarium.

I do have some video that I took on my iPhone that I will be uploading later, once I figure out a good way to post it on this wordpress blog.

AU – Port Jackson – Sydney Opera House

North of the Royal Botanic Gardens is Port Jackson and the Farm Cove.  Below are some pictures I took of the Port as well as the Sydney Opera House.  (I will go back later in the evening to get some pictures of it when it has its lights on, I hope.)  I had to get a picture of the Sea Shepherd boat.
