ONE of the principles that is taught in the Book of Mormon, and in modern teachings is that of,  “liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our profit and learning.” (1 Nephi 19:23).   Ezra Taft Benson in April of 1984 tells us to:  “We urge you to study the Book of Mormon as individuals and families and then to do as the prophet Nephi counseled: liken the scriptures to yourselves so that it will be for your profit and learning.”

To vote or not to vote, that has NEVER been the question.  I have always maintained, and will always maintain that voting should NEVER be a question.  I care more that you vote, and that you vote for who you believe will do the best job, then you vote the way I WANT YOU TO VOTE.  In order for this Republic (and yes, America is a republic), it is important that the population of voters care enough to vote and vote for who they think best aligns themselves with their morals and view points.

Temptation Vs Sin

This is one of the biggest things that I think causes issued with people of the Mormon faith.  And I would say it also causes problems with most Christian faiths as well.  That is the difference between Temptation and Sin.

In the Book of Mormon there is reference to groups of people that at one time were Nephites and members of the Church of God and then for some reason they left the Church and openly rebelled against it.   I am not talking about people that just left the Church, but people who left the Church and then did whatever they could to try to ruin the Church and its members.

The other day in sacrament meeting one of the youth speakers talked about having the Holy Ghost cleanse your should by Fire.   I thought the idea of having the Holy Ghost actually burn your sins and desire to sin from you as very interesting.  So I figured I would research it some more.
